Innovation is the key to the future of social housing – a notion that we brought to life on 6th February at the Voicescape Income Innovation Day 2025. Income professionals, sector leaders and Voicescape users came together for a momentous event in Birmingham, where:
- We welcomed keynote speaker Ian Wright, CEO of the Disruptive Innovators Network (DIN), who shared his expert insights on how innovation from outside the sector can inspire change
- Christian Hartley from Stockport Homes and Helen Caldwell from Stonewater revealed their journey with Voicescape over the years in an insightful collaborative networking session
- Gary Haynes, our Managing Director, and other Voicescape leaders unveiled the latest innovation in the social housing income arena that will transform repayment agreements
Attendees learned from one another and explored new ways to improve services while witnessing how the latest thinking in AI, behavioural insights and machine learning can be leveraged to forge a better financial future for social housing.

The future of social housing technology
A major paradigm shift in technology is underway in the sector. By staying attuned to market changes and listening and collaborating with customers, Voicescape has been able to develop data-driven, AI-powered solutions where machine learning and behavioural insights enhance customer service, income collection and operational efficiency.
While our goal remains the same – to support social landlords in delivering a seamless, intelligent and highly responsive tenant experience – we will never stop evolving our solutions to give customers the tools, capacity and freedom to stay one step ahead of a rapidly changing landscape. This sentiment was echoed by an enlightening presentation from our keynote speaker, Ian Wright.
Disrupting the status quo - Ian Wright, CEO of DIN
Ian’s insights encapsulated the danger of avoiding innovation in a sector where the cost of inaction will be greater than the investment of adopting new ways of working. He went on to highlight the fact that innovation isn’t always about big budgets, but about rethinking solutions, embracing disruption and actively learning from failure.
When landlords see through this lens, they can confidently invest in solutions that directly address their needs and challenges. It’s about being proactive against problems, challenging outdated legacy systems that no longer serve tenants, and experimenting with a technology partner who can help you embrace the future.
With Voicescape leading the charge in housing technology and engagement analytics, Ian’s talk reinforced the importance of leveraging data, AI, and automation to enhance tenant experiences and income collection. Housing providers can no longer afford to stand still. The choice is simple: adapt or be left behind.
